* provide alternatives to and migrations away from Big Tech (Google, Microsoft, Apple etc)
* minimise or eliminate subscriptions, licensing and software costs
* own and control your data
* improve performance, security and privacy
* reduce e-waste by extending the useful life of hardware no longer "supported" by other operating systems
2.) Platform and provider agnostic solutions - only the best solution for your needs, whether it is free / open source or paid / proprietary
3.) Substance over style (e.g. this website) and to suck less
4.) No social media - any social media accounts are not official and should be ignored
